Simon Cottle

Founding Partner

Simon is a Founding Partner at Stanley Capital. Since founding SC, Simon has originated and led the Noden Pharma and Essential deals.Prior to this, Simon gained lead investor experience as managing director and investment committee member at Ardian and director at Hg Capital.

At Ardian and Hg Capital Simon led or co-led deals into Parts Alliance, GSF, DDS Software, Zenith, Leasedrive, Trigo and Envision Pharma.Simon was named as one of the top 40 under 40 private equity practitioners in the inaugural Financial News awards in 2013. Simon’s pre-investing background was as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and Citigroup, and a technology and healthcare management consultant at Arthur D Little.

Simon was a British Olympian in the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 (Rowing) and holds an MBA (INSEAD) and an MA (Oxford) where he was a Richard Blackwell Scholar and multiple College Prize winner in 1997 and 1998. Before university Simon held an IBM Scholarship in Computer Science where he helped program early voice recognition software.

Patrick Hargutt

Founding Partner

Patrick is a Founding Partner at Stanley Capital. He co-led Stanley’s investment into Noden. Patrick is a private equity and special situations investor with a strong track record across both equity and debt transactions.

Prior to Stanley Capital, Patrick was an investor at Centerbridge Partners and Monarch Alternative Capital. He began his career as an investment banker at JP Morgan.

Patrick holds a Masters in Mathematics from the Technical University Munich with summa cum laude. He is the author of the mathematical specialist book “A Fractional Heath-Jarrow-Morton Approach for Interest Rate Markets“, published while on a post-graduate research scholarship at Imperial College London.

James Brooks

Founding Partner

James is a Founding Partner at Stanley Capital and co-led Stanley’s investment into Noden Pharma

Until September 2021 he was on the leadership team of Shell’s R&ES division, responsible for strategy and investment decision making for platforms across power, e-mobility, hydrogen, carbon offsets and venture investing

From 2016 to 2020, James co-led the rapid growth of Lightsource BP to become a global leader in the renewable energy sector. In that same period, James founded, raised and worked as managing partner of one of the world’s largest emerging market-focused green private equity funds, Eversource Capital, and completed investments across utility scale and distributed energy, mobility, water and waste management sectors.

Prior to joining Lightsource BP, James was co-head of EMEA Energy and UK & Ireland for Goldman Sachs’s Merchant Banking Division, its principal investment platform. Prior to GS, James worked at First Reserve and Advent International.

James holds a Masters and BA degree in Physics from Merton College, University of Oxford.

Matt Harrison

CFO, Partner

Matt is a Partner at Stanley Capital and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has over 20 years of private equity experience mainly in CFO and chief operating officer (COO) positions.​

Prior to joining Stanley, Matt was CFO of Candover Investments plc and co-founder and COO of Arle Capital​. He co-led the buyout of Arle from Candover in a public market transaction, eventually selling Arle in 2017. Most recently Matt acted as interim CFO of Appian Capital​.

Matt is a qualified chartered accountant, having worked for KPMG in London and Brunei​. He holds an MA in Economic Development and Policy Analysis from Nottingham University.

Arianna Nardelli

Senior Investment Associate

Arianna is part of the investment team at Stanley Capital.

Arianna began her career at Goldman Sachs and spent over six years in the consumer, retail and healthcare M&A team, working across a set of large transactions spanning acquisitions, mergers and equity capital raises.

Arianna holds a Bachelor in Economics, Management and Finance from Bocconi University and a MSc in Financial Economics from Oxford University.

Rodolphe Louvet

Investment Associate

Rodolphe is an Associate with the Investment Team.

Rodolphe joined SCP from Morgan Stanley where he focused on healthcare transactions from its London office. Prior to that, Rodolphe began his career at Citi and spent four years in the healthcare investment banking team working across acquisitions, capital raises, and joint ventures.

Rodolphe and holds a MSc in Financial Markets and Investments from SKEMA Business School.

Yair Erez

Head of Research, Partner

Yair Erez joined in 2022 as head of research and partner at Stanley Capital Partners.

Prior to SCP Yair was a senior private equity partner at Bain & Co for three years, where he focused on healthcare and life Sciences transactions. Before this he spent nine years as a partner at McKinsey and Co where he was part of the private equity practice focusing on healthcare and life sciences transactions as well as undertaking growth strategy work for specialty pharma and other life sciences organisations.

Yair has worked or invested with the SCP team on the three most recent investments Envision[1], Essential[2] and Noden Pharma.

Yair is a medical doctor specialising in gynaecology and gained his MD at Hebrew University where he was on the Dean’s list of honours, and an executive MBA at the Herzelliya Interdisciplinary Center.

Prodipto Ghosh

AI / Automation

Prodipto is responsible for AI and automation at Stanley Labs. He led the analysis of optimal mathematical solutions for the world’s fastest supercomputers and several pioneering enterprise solutions based on and inspired by Quantum Computing and Mathematics as the lead AI scientist at McKinsey.

He led mathematical assessments of several target AI / machine-learning firms for investments worth $0.25bn+ including a strategic initiative at a top three UK bank.

Prodipto conceptualised and built a range of natural language processing (NLP)-based engines for financial services, including concepts discovery, impact & graphs-ts modelling, plus a customer ‘latent-aspects’ engine (for granular breakdown of equity-sentiment)

Prodipto holds a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, an MBA with a focus on quantitative methods from IIM Bangalore and a masters in Quantitative Finance from the London Business School.

Erez Raanan

Erez is responsible for AI, automation and technology at Stanley Labs. Erez is a director and co-founder of Math Labs and was a co-founder and CEO of Aiola.

Previously, Erez led McKinsey Analytics Ventures globally and led 15+ data and analytics acquisitions in the last three years including QuantumBlack (a leading AI company with 300+ FTEs), Analytics Operations Engineering (AOE) and ISparkBeyond (AI platform).

Erez holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering (first in class, summa cum laude), and Data Science certification from Carnegie Mellon University
